James M Hines, President / CEO, HP Properties. Mike Hines is the President of HP Properties and partner in HP Hotels. Mr. Hines founded HP Hotels in June 2002 and HP Properties in September 2007.
HP Hotels has become one of the most trusted and recognized third party hotel management companies in the country. In September 2007, Mike turned over the presidency of the management company to the Vice President of the company, Kerry Ranson, and began HP Properties.
HP Properties was founded to service client needs for hotel development as Hines and his staff developed and opened over 10 properties during his tenure at HP Hotels. The need was apparent to formalize the services being offered by HP Hotels and HP Properties was formed. Currently, HP Properties is developing 7 hotels in five different states for ownership groups with an experienced and dedicated staff.
Mike began his hotel career in 1983 after college, and has served in multiple positions from waiter to General Manager. His operational experience, financial knowledge, and committed team play have helped owners lower costs, bring projects in on time, and open properties with heads in beds.

Ben Chapman, Director of Construction. Ben Chapman joined HP Properties in 2007, bringing over 10 years of experience in the construction field. Mr. Chapman's professional role in the development aspect of our projects involve preparing budgets and negotiating contracts with engineers, architects and general contractors.
He is also involved in the process of acquiring proper zoning, building permits, and other approval requirements from local and state authorities. Once projects are underway, Ben remains involved with the Design Team, the Brand, and the General Contractor, ensuring that all projects finish on schedule and within budget.
Prior to joining the staff at HP, Ben worked as both a Project Manager and Estimator for several ENR Top 400 General Contractors. He holds a degree in Building Science from Auburn University's College of Architecture Design and Construction.
Ben is a LEED Accredited Professional.
